Shirley Ann Tegtmeier

Crystal Lake—Shirley Ann Tegtmeier, 83, of Crystal Lake passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Pepper Family Hospice Home in Barrington surrounded by her family.

She was born February 16, 1928, in Elmhurst to John and Ada (Phillips) Pletz. On August 10, 1946, she married William E. Tegtmeier in McHenry.

She graduated from Wauconda High School in 1946. She had been a resident of Crystal Lake for the last 57 years. She was a loving caregiver to many people. She also enjoyed crocheting for which she earned many ribbons.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; her children, Ginger Sebastian, William (Cindy) Tegtmeier, Paula Scardina-Tegtmeier, and Marcy Ann (Wade) Schwan; her grandchildren, John William (Heather) Veugeler, Megan Ann Veugeler, Kim Tegtmeier, Caleb, Cora, and Anna Schwan; her great-grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Sierra, Summer, and Lauren; and her brother, Raymond Pletz.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Georgia Lee Tegtmeier; her parents; her sister, Liz Maverick; and her brother, Richard Pletz.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7pm on Sunday, December 18, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

A funeral service will be at 10:30am on Monday, December 19, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Crystal Lake.
