He was born August 2, 1966 to Stephen and Shirley Schutz.
Steve was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Army Reserves after his active duty service. He was past commander and lifetime member of the McHenry PLAV Post 188.
Steve was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed sharing a cold beer with friends and was able to bring a laugh to others. He would always be tinkering and working on various projects. Steve was a kind man and would always lend a helping hand to those who needed it.
Steve will be missed by his children, Natasha (Samuel) Clark and Ty (Michelle) Schutz; his granddaughter, Zoey Clark; his sisters, Sue (Randy) Slezak, Sandy (Brett) Armstrong, Sherri Schutz; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a visitation from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, January 22 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be at Noon.
Steve's final resting place will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Interment will take place at a later date.
