William J. "Bill" Schad

William J. “Bill” Schad, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Centegra Hospital, McHenry. He was born January 14, 1932 in Cincinnati, OH to Edward and Eleanor (nee Dorr) Schad. Bill graduated from Xavier University in 1954 with a B.S. in accounting. He married Lois Grause in May of 1954. He worked as a manager for the Government Accountability Office in Chicago until his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed fishing, antiques, travel and playing cards. He was a sports enthusiast who took great interest in the Bears, Bulls, Cubs and Blackhawks. Bill’s greatest joy was spending time with his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Lois; children: Vickie (Dave) Loranca, Linda (Jim) Page, Greg (Kathy) Schad, Lori (Kent) Higgins, Jennifer (Dave) Matts; grandchildren: Sarah, Brian, Becky, Erik, Aimee, Samee, Ryan, Emily, Molly; great-granddaughter Margaret and one on the way; and his brother Jim(Lin) Schad. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Sunday, June 7 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave. Crystal Lake. Funeral mass will be at 1 pm on Monday, June 8 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave. Crystal Lake. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
