

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ann Cochrane Gregath, will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cullman City Cemetery, with Byron Vance conducting, of First United Methodist Church, Cullman.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gregath, formerly of Cullman, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at her home in Nashville, Tenn. The daughter of John E. Cochrane and Dora Pearl Lockhart Cochrane, she was the widow of John E. Gregath.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Dora Cochrane Whisler of Bonita Springs, Fla.and grandson, Mark Gregath of Cullman.
Mrs. Gregath is survived by her son, John Timothy Gregath and daughter-in-law, Lawana Kay Good Gregath of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Fredrea Gregath Cook and son-in-law, Fredas L Cook of Wyandotte, Okla.; three granddaughters, Carrie Ann Cook of Wyandotte, Okla.; Madelyn Joy Gregath McLemore and husband, Brent Taylor McLemore of Jackson, Tenn.; and Sabrina Noel Gregath and husband Marc Vromen of Amsterdam, Netherlands; as well as one grandson, Matthew Brent Gregath of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and two great-granddaughters, Sophia Claire and Abigail Taylor McLemore of Jackson, Tenn.
A teacher, writer and publisher, she founded the Gregath Publishing Company, in Cullman in 1970. Mrs. Gregath researched and studied all over the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Mediterranean, North Africa, Spain and the Caribbean. Her first works in high school and subsequent family history books prompted her to begin helping others publish their genealogies. She developed genealogical research and writing classes at Wallace State Community College, as well as establishing their genealogical library.
A member of numerous genealogical, historical, and patriotic organizations, she was a long time member of the Dripping Springs Chapter, NSDAR, United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Continental Society Daughters of Indian Wars.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church Re-building Fund, 320 3rd. St. SE., Cullman, AL 35055 or the Mark Gregath Memorial Fund for Foster Children, c/o Dept. of Human Resources, 210 4th. St. SW, Cullman 35055.
