Betty Grant

Betty was born July 19, 1920 in Terre Haute, In. to Claude and Florence Norton. She graduated from Muncie Central High School, Muncie In. in 1938. She married the love of her life, Robert C "Bob" Grant on March 23, 1940,amd they remained happily married for 62 years until his death in 2002.

Bob and Betty moved with their children to Cullman, Al in 1961.and fell in love with the town. She moved to Miramar Beach, Fl. in October 2015 to live with her son and daughter-in law Bob and Beverly grant. She met many friends while in Miramar Beach and enjoyed many good times there as well.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert C "Bob" Grant, son Richard A Grant, son-in-law John Aluskewicz, and grandson Heath Sewell. She is survived by her son Robert M Bob" Grant and wife Beverly of Miramar Beach, Fl., daughter Susan Aluskewicz of Panama City Beach , Fl. Grandchildren Heather Grant Battles of Cullman Al. Rhett and Lindsay Grant of Leesburg, Ga., Katy and Corey McKenzie of Carrollton, Ga., Beth Powell of Indiana, Eric Grant of Minnesota, Brenda Mills of Indiana, Doug Grant of Texas, and 11 great grandchildren.

Betty was a wonderful Wife, homemaker, Mother, Grandmother, lovingly known by her grandchildren as Meme, and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she enjoyed attending services and events with her husband Bob for many years. She and Bob were active members of the Cullman Elks Lodge #1609 for over 50 years and where Mr. Grant held many local, state, and national offices.

We will all miss "Meme" but the sweet memories of her and the good times will be held in our hearts forever.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, December 16, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Moss Service Funeral Home. The celebration of Betty’s life will be Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at St. John’s Church with burial to follow at Cullman City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Emerald Coast hospice 200 Grand Blvd. Suite 205A Miramar Beach Fl. 32550.
