Mrs. Betty F. Wynn Lackey

Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty F. Lackey, age 83 of Vinemont will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery, with Bro. James Burnham officiating.

Betty was born in Vinemont on September 1, 1931 to the late Chester L. & Icie Kelley Wynn. She passed away at Huntsville Hospital on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Mrs. Lackey was a seamstress for over 23 years at Cullman Industries, a member at Mt. Zion Methodist; she loved her family, and “playing with the little ones”.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Wayne S. Lackey, Sr., an infant son, Steven Craig Lackey, a brother, Kenneth Wynn and a sister, Macey Johns.

Survivors include one Daughter – Rhonda Cupp; one Son – Wayne (Vicky) Lackey, Jr.; one Sister – Helen Tarpley; 3 – Grandsons – Shane (Tonya) Cupp, John (Brandi) Bach & Bill (Amy) Bach; 4 – Great-Grandchildren – Hunter Cupp, Lawson Bach, Virginia Bach & Sophie Bach; Special Grand Angels – Lily Hastings & Ella Abbott; and a Host of Nieces & Nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The family extends its great appreciation to Dr. Jeremy Hon and staff at Crestview Cancer Center in Huntsville for their 23 year relationship of care and support given the famiy.
