Douglas “Rocky” Terry, age 74, passed away at his residence September 9, 2015. Mr. Terry was involved in the funeral service industry for 34 years. He also served 3 terms as coroner of Cullman County. Mr. Terry served as president of the Alabama Funeral Directors Association and was a member of many boards. He was a member of St. John’s United Church and served as the president and general manager of Moss-Terry Funeral Service incorporated. Mr. Terry was elected county commissioner Place Number I in 1994 and served one term. He was currently employed at Cullman County Sanitation Department..
Survived by his wife - Mary Melton Terry; daugthers - Jamie (Kip) James, Carrie Schaffer; 3 bothers – James, Larry and Waymon Terry; 3 grandchildren – Spencer Green, Lawson and Mary Franklin “Frankie” Schaffer; host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation Friday night from 6:00 -9:00 pm at Moss Service Funeral home
Graveside service Saturday, 11:00 am at Cullman City Cemetery with Rev. Perry Knight officiating.
