I worked with "Doc' at Baker Dairy at the Borden Ice Cream warehouse in Cullman. He was a very hard worker and an even better man. Doc and I became good friends and co-workers. He taught me the secret about how to tell when it was time to come out of the freezer, he told me when your nose starts burning it's time to get out. We drank a lot of coffee together even in the summer. Doc I know where you are because of the Christian example you set before each of your co-workers. We will share a cup in heaven one day, and I still have to have to have a little cream in mine. Rest in peace my friend. 

In 1986, I started working at Baker Dairy and the first person I met was Doyle “Doc” Brown. Shortly after meeting him, he showed me where to find some insulated coveralls, gloves, and a hat. We walked into the freezer, a constant 20 below zero, and he amazed me with his work ethic, stamina, and resilience to the harsh working conditions of loading trucks with Breyer’s Ice Cream. If I tried hard, I could manage about half an hour inside the freezer - Doc would stay for over an hour at a time. He taught me how to drink my coffee hot and black, all day long, even when it was over 90 degrees in the summertime. He taught me how to load a truck the correct way, so that the drivers could find the product quickly on their route. He taught me many other things in the 3 years we worked together. The thing that stands out the most was his patience with me, a 19 year old kid and not very wise. He was the kindest person I’ve ever met. I never saw him angry. And I will remember him and the things I learned working with him for the rest of my life. Rest In Peace, Doc. You made a difference in my life.
