

Funeral services for Elva Elizabeth Cochran Blair, 100, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church, the Rev. Robert Kurtz officiating, with interment in Cullman City Cemetery. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to services.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Blair died Saturday, Sept. 11, at Cullman Long Term Care. She was born Aug. 11, 1910, in Cullman to C. Lee and Luella Marlow Cochran. She graduated in 1927 from Cullman County High School. She worked many years at the Cullman County Courthouse and later worked with her husband at Modernistic Printers Inc. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Powell W. Blair; her sister, Lillie Cochran Stanford; and her brother, Charles Lee Cochran Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia (Clarence) Richter and Jan (Jim) Witte, both of Cullman; three sons, Roy (Ramelle) Glasscock of San Antonio, Texas, Neil (Ann) Glasscock of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Jim (Betty) Blair of Cullman; grandchildren, Betsy (David) McLeroy of Cullman, Nancy (David) Nixon of Huntsville; Pam (Richard) Henderson of Tuscaloosa, Beck (Robin) Glasscock of Brunswick, Ga., Holly (Mark) Kozera of Rome, Ga., Whitney Glasscock of Cullman, Greg Glasscock of Cullman, Joey (Sheila) Blair of Arab, Scotty (Pam) Blair of Cullman, Randall (Sherry) Edmondson of Holly Pond, and Andy Witte of Huntsville; 21 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; two nieces, Sara (Alan) Grostick of Hayden and Carol Thiry of Odenville; and two nephews, Charlie (Lora) Cochran and Ben (Lesia) Cochran, both of Florence.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday.
