Etna Ruth (Pittman) Rigsby, age 89, of Vinemont, Alabama passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. Etna was born November 19, 1932 in Crane Hill, Alabama to Carl Glenn and Vassie Elizabeth Sinyard Pittman. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 62 years:Paul W. Rigsby, sister: Dwynell Pittman Speakman, brothers: Lelton Pittman and Adrian Pittman,
Etna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed making a home for her family in the various locations where Paul was stationed in the Air Force. She remained young at heart and enjoyed entertaining friends and family, decorating and fashions.
Paul and Etna retired in their hometown of Cullman where they enjoyed life among family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Cheri (Lachlan) Powell, Paul "Billy" (Carol) Rigsby, Lisa (Ron) Gilbert, grandchildren: Lee (Ginger) Powell, Will Rigsby, Josh (Shelly) Rigsby, Jessica (Jeremy) Bonds, great grandchildren: Emmaline Powell, Evie Powell, Noah Rigsby, Emma Rigsby, Reise Rigsby, Aubrie Rigsby, her beloved pet Baron and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her special caregivers: Shirley Smith, Esther Hayes, Debbie Powell, Teresa Reynolds and Angelina Hunt and also Woodland Village Healthcare and Rehab Center and Comfort Care Hospice for their kindness and the care provided.
A visitation for Etna will be held Friday, September 23, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Moss Service Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Richter officiating. An interment will occur Friday, September 23, 2022 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Co. Rd. 222, Crane Hill, AL 35033.
In lieu of flowers: the family request donations be made to St. John's Evangelical Church.
