Shorty worked for the power company for over 40 years. He was a sergeant in the Army and the National Guard.
Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Speer Nix.
He is survived by daughter, Tarcey Nix Butts (Steve); son, Timothy Nix (Joyce); grandchildren: Timothy Austin Nix and Rachel Leanne Nix; two sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 12:00 noon at Moss Service Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cullman City Cemetery.
