Mr. Blair passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1941, in Cullman, to Powell and Elva Blair. He was active in civic and business organizations. He held various offices within the Elks Organization, including past state president, Board of Directors of the Elks, Memorial Center, Board of Directors Alabama Youth Camp, and Exalted Ruler of BPOE 1609. He was also on the Board of Directors of Cullman Chamber of Commerce and was a member of Cullman Masonic Lodge. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. He worked at his family’s business: Modernistic Printers Inc., for over 40 years alongside his father, mother, wife, sister, brother-in-law, son and daughter-in-law.
Survivors include his wife, Betty O. Blair; three sons, Joey (Shelia) Blair of Arab, Scotty (Pam) Blair of Cullman and Randall (Sherry) Edmondson of Cullman; five grandsons, Matthew (Jennifer) Blair of Arab, Adam (Lindsey) Edmondson of Cullman, Seth Blair of Cullman, Tyler Blair and Daniel Blair of Arab; three granddaughters, Amanda (Kevin) Guthery, Brooke Blair of Arab and Peyton Blair of Cullman; three great-granddaughters, Reece Guthery, Mila Edmondson and Samantha Blair; two brothers, Roy (Ramelle) Glasscock of San Antonio, Texas, and Neil (Ann) Glasscock of St. Simons Island, Ga.; two sisters, Virginia (Clarence) Richter of Cullman and Jan (Jim) Witte of Cullman; four sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and the blessing of many lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church.
