Mr. James Henry Cordes passed away June 24, 2014 at his residence. He was 58 years old. He was born January 30, 1956 to Oscar and Esther Brown Cordes. Mr. Cordes was and avid coon hunter and was in the PKC and the Alabama Coon Hunters Hall Of Fame. He also loved to play softball.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at The Temple Baptist Church at 12:00 p.m. He will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until 12:00 p.m.. There will not be any visitation at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife: Robie Cordes, Daughter: April Cordes (Gregory) Ward. Son: Matthew Cordes , Honorary son: Patrick Stewart, Brothers: David Wayne (Margie) Cordes and Kenneth Eugene (Valerie) Cordes, Sister: Laura Ann Burks, Grandchildren: Trenten Cordes and Tia Ward. Mother-In-Law: Eva Mae Nix and a Host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preced in death by: His parents, Sister: Sandra Hanson and Nephews Michael David, Wesley Adam and Kenneth Andrew Cordes
