

Joan was born October 4, 1950 in Cullman, Ala. to Wendell and Louise Davidson. She graduated from Cullman High School and earned her nursing degree from Carraway Methodist Medical Center. Her nursing career spanned 35 years, and she was beloved by her colleagues and patients in the maternity center at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Joan loved Jesus and wrote many short stories and poems about her faith. Many of these were included in Eyes of Love, a book she wrote and published in 1996. She was active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cullman and in the Sacred Heart Altar Society.
Joan enjoyed riding horses with her husband and a special group of friends and traveling across the United States.
She is survived by her husband Wayne, son Michael (Tricia) Fuller of Cullman, daughters Katie (Wescoat) Free and Courtney (Jeremy) Zills of Cullman, and brother Gary (Terry) Davidson of Winchester, Ky., grandchildren Morgan and Mason Fuller, Will, Mabry and Wyatt Free, Madeline, Tucker and Tyde Willingham, and Nate and Ansley Zills all of Cullman, and loyal German Shepherd Max.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell and Louise Mabry Davidson of Cullman, step-mother Lila Grace Davidson of Cullman, and brother William Davidson of Andalusia.
Serving as pall bearers are Charlie Leverett, Tony Neal, Randall Gallion, Lynn Sweatmon, Rickey Kreps, and Tom Charney.
Visitation will be held at Moss Service Funeral Home Thursday, December 15 from 5-9 p.m. with The Rosary at 7:30. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 16 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father Patrick Egan, O.S.B. officiating. Burial will follow at Cullman City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society and Hope Horses, Inc.
