

Funeral services for Leon James Gentry, 85, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Ralph Andrews officiating, with interment in Good Hope Cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gentry died Tuesday, Aug. 9. He was born Dec. 16, 1925, to Samuel Dewey and Lillie Higgerson Gentry. He was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jackie Gentry; and a sister, Thurlene Otto.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Johnson Gentry; a daughter, Gail (Danny) Miller; three sons, Ronald Gentry, Roger (Shelia) Gentry and Randall (Paulette) Gentry; a brother, Larry (Jackie) Gentry; his grandchildren, Matt (Susie) Gentry, Jeff (Racheal) Gentry, Chris Gentry, Jennifer Gentry, Preston (Caitlin) Miller, Tonya (James) Finch, Russell Miller, Tyler Gentry and Macon Gentry; and his great-grandchildren, Maiya Freeman, William Gentry, Walker Gentry, Olivia Gentry and Kyleigh Finch.
Pallbearers will be Matt Gentry, Jeff Gentry, Chris Gentry, Preston Miller, Russell Miller and Tyler Gentry.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Good Hope Baptist Church or one’s favorite charity.
