Merrill D. Burns

A Celebration Of Life Service for Mr. Merrill D. Burns of Crane Hill Alabama will be on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Livingston Chapel Methodist Church at 3:00 P.M. Mr. Burns will lie in state at the church from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at 3:00 P.M. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev Ron Collett will officiate. Moss-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Burns passed away on May 23, 2015 at his residence at the age of 91. He was born in Akron Ohio on December 6, 1923 to John Durward and Nancy M. Harbison Burns. He was a proud veteran of The United States Army and served during World War II. He loved The Lord, family and church and was very active in his community helping others anyway he could.

He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty years; Elena Dean Waldrop Burns.

Survivors are: Daughters: Deborah (Don) Colburn, Linda (Bucket) Guthrie, Son: Gary (Becky) Burns, Eight Grandchildren, Thirteen Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to Livingston Chapel Methodist Church Building Fund in memory of Merrill Burns.

Visitation will be at Livingston Chapel Methodist Church on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.
