

Mrs. Peggy Mevelene “Melba” Raley Fowler of Cullman Alabama passed away on October 22, 2010 at her residence at the age of 71. Peggy was born on December 19, 1938 in Cullman to Johnnie Bertis and Lois Christene Brown Raley. Peggy loved helping anyone in need, she often gave clothing and or groceries to people who were in need or less fortunate than she, she loved playing music, especially Bluegrass, dancing, especially Buck Dancing was her favorite and she won numerous contests. She loved softball and was an excellent third base player and had the legacy of being the first woman to hit a softball over the fence at Jones Chapel softball field. She loved trail riding, both horseback and in mule pulled wagons with her best friend, her first love Delbert. Her most favorite thing was just enjoying life seasoned with laughter, adventure and time spent with her beloved family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday October 24, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Moss Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Kinney and Rev. John Raley officiating. Interment will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and her Husband Delbert L. Fowler. She is survived by: 2 Daughters: Debbie (Herman) Peinhardt of Cullman, Drenda (Shannon) Walker of Cullman, 2 Sisters: Betty Jean (Mancel) McSwain of Cullman, Mellodean Raley of Cullman, 3 Sisters-In-Law: Edna Faye Davenport, Glenda Mae (Jerry) Smith, Nancy (Tony ) Wynn, Grandchildren: Cody Milligan, Lydia Herge and Destiny Walker, 9 Nephews and 6 Nieces and many great nephews and great nieces and friends. Visitation will be on Saturday October 23, 2010 from 5:30 P.M. until 9 P.M. at Moss Funeral Home.
