Mrs. Ruby Ponder Shedd

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ruby Ponder Shedd, age 88 formerly of Baileyton, will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Roswell Cemetery (Blount County) with Rev. Brad Hadley officiating.

Mrs. Shedd was born on September 19, 1924 in Gadsden to the late Jodie and Susie Turner Ponder. She passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Hanceville Nursing Home. Ruby was a member of Pan Creek Baptist Church, had retired from Syncro in Arab in 1987 and she loved to travel, having visited many places across America.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Birl Shedd; son, Alton (Elaine) Shedd; a sister, Betty Gray; and three brothers, Bill Ponder, Burl Ponder and James Ponder.

Survivors include a Daughter – Peggy (Larry) Cole of Huntsville; one Son – Charles (Carol) Shedd of Gardendale; one Sister – Rosie Pollard of Gadsden; one Brother – Edward (Jo) Ponder of Memphis, TN; four 4 – Grandchildren – Wade (Julie) Shedd, Letisha (Allen) Reno, Misty (Kasey) Becker and Michael McWhorter; four 4 – Great-Grandchildren – Trent Shedd, Kyndall Shedd, Bryant Reno and Brooke Reno.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
