Virginia Ann Blanchard

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Cullman, Alabama.

She was born October 10, 1942, in Whitinsville, MA to Albert and Rita Houle. Her father was a textile worker in Whitinsville, MA. Her mother worked in the local grocery store.

She attended and graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1961, where she met and eventually married Frank Blanchard in 1964. She graduated from Salter Secretarial School in 1963. They eventually made their way to Cullman, AL where they have lived since 1973. Mrs. Blanchard was a devoted mother and homemaker while her husband worked for Americold . as the Vice President of Finance.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and served in several different roles; Past President of United Methodist Women, Stephen Minister, President of Friendship Circle, served on Board of Trustees and served on the Altar Guild.

Her interests included family, cross stitching, line dancing and scrapbooking of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Blanchard is survived by her Husband: Frank Blanchard,her brother, Ronald Houle of Robertsdale, AL; sister, Christine Prouty of North Uxbridge, MA; son and daughter-in-law Keith and Rebecca Blanchard and their children Allan, Nicholas and Jenna and son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Megan Blanchard and their children Caitlyn, Isabella and Ian.

Funeral will be on June 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. (visitation from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
