Born in Lawrence County Alabama February 24, 1935 to Charley and Eula Porter Rutherford, he was raised in Cullman where he retired as a local businessman. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Waymon was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Judy Rutherford, children: Steve Rutherford, Robin Hubbard, Mark (Lynn) Rutherford, Jody Jones, and Carrie Beth Jones, grandchildren: Erica Rutherford, Skyeler Rutherford, Caitlyn (David) Kearns, Thomas Fortson and Will Davis Simmons, brother: Harold (Joyce) Rutherford.
The family request, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis Tn. 38105 or Sacred Heart School @ 112 2nd St. S.E. Cullman, Alabama 35055.
The family will receive friends at Moss Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.
At Waymon’s request, there will be no services, only a celebration of his life at the visitation.
