

He was born April 18, 1931, in Cherokee, North Carolina to T. C. Queen and Miriam Margaret Queen. His family moved to Racoon Ford when he was 8 months old. He was a farmer and later worked for Westvaco Corp in the timber industry. He was an active member of the Culpeper United Methodist Church for about 70 years. He was also an active member of the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprise and served on the board of directors for many years. In his retired years he took great pride in his rose bushes and enjoyed mowing his lawn. After moving to The Culpeper a few years ago he discovered the love for the game corn hole.
Mr. Queen is survived by his wife of 74 years, Joyce B. Queen, his sons Chris Queen and his wife Mary Alice and Tim Queen and his wife Kate, six grandchildren Taylor Queen Dudley and her husband Alex, Jordan Christopher Queen, Mackenzie Queen Burlin and her husband John, Charles Walter Queen, Ethan James Queen and Eliza Grace Queen and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Queen was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Vernon Queen, Bess Kirkland, Inez Jenkins, Felix Queen, Daniel Queen and Haynes Queen.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 1:00PM in the chapel of Clore English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, Va with interment to follow in Fairview cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Jordan Queen, Ethan Queen, Ricky Deal, Steve Level, Scott Davis and Speedy Green.
The family will receive friends one-hour prior to service time.
