James Hyatt Suddreth, 81, of Culpeper, VA passed away at UVA Medical Center December 19, 2019. Mr. Suddreth was born January 30, 1938 to John G. Suddreth and Marceline Eagan Suddreth in Oklahoma; served his country in the U.S. Air Force; was Chief of Public Works in Loudoun County, VA; enjoyed fishing, travelling, cooking and meal time. He was a member of Oak Shade United Methodist Church, a volunteer at UVA-Culpeper Hospital and a former member of the Blue Ridge Chorale. Most importantly, he had a great love for his family, of whom he was especially proud. Mr. Suddreth is survived by his wife, Mira Van Patten Suddreth; his children, Lee Anne Boyd (Berry), Michael James Suddreth (Jessica), and Marcy Carroll (Johnny); his grandsons, Nick Carroll, Joshua Wilson, Jake Suddreth and Declan Boyd and his brother, John G. Suddreth, Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Rev. Kang Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Shade United Methodist Church, c/o Mary Gibson, 16496 Oak Shade Road, Rixeyville, VA 22737.
