James Clyde Woodside
We regret to announce the passing of James Clyde Woodside (Jim), 69, on April 16, 2024, at Autumn Care of Madison due to complications following an auto-pedestrian accident. Jim was born to J. Robert and Mary Ann Woodside on June 12, 1954 in Missouri. The family moved to Virginia, and Jim graduated at the top of his class from Warren County High School in 1972.
He went on to attend the University of Virginia and graduated with a degree in Commerce in 1976. After trying the more traditional route of banking, Jim found his entrepreneurial spirit first by re-stringing tennis rackets and ultimately owning and operating his own transportation business with multiple vehicles and drivers. They did courier work and primarily drove people to and from the airport.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, J. Robert Woodside. Jim is survived by his mother Mary Ann Woodside, a sister Martha (Tom) Pack, a brother Doug (Allison) Woodside, a sister MaryLynn (Bill) Frantz, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 8th, at Culpeper Baptist Church, Courtyard Commons room (downstairs). Visitation will be held 11am-12 noon, with the service at noon. Refreshments will follow. This will be during the Culpeper Farmer's Market, so you will want to park in the upper parking lot.
If you’d like to honor his legacy, in lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Jim's name to the Manna Ministry of Culpeper Presbyterian Church or the Culpeper Winter Heat Shelter.
