Joyce A. Shore

Joyce Ann (Stevens) Shore, 66, passed away at a Hospice center in Columbia, MD, attended by her loving husband, Thursday, June 8, 2017. Joyce was born in Washington, D.C., September 13, 1950, to S. Bowman Stevens and Nancy Booth Stevens. Joyce graduated from Culpeper County High School as a member of the class of ’68 and helped plan the most recent reunion and bimonthly lunches with classmates. In her life she worked many administrative jobs in banks and later doctor’s offices, retiring from the office of Dr. Mark Sivieri in 2012. Joyce was well known for her love of cats. So well known, that, once, while living in Ramstein, Germany with her Air Force husband, German children brought her an abandoned kitten they had found. Joyce is survived by her husband, Jules Shore of Laurel, Maryland; siblings, Louise Stevens Robbins of Madison, Wisconsin, Jane E. Marlow of Bentonville, Arkansas, Suzanne Stevens of Laurel, Maryland, and Samuel Bowman Stevens Jr of Atlanta, Georgia; brother-in-law, J. Harold Boyd of Culpeper, Virginia, stepmother, Jane Horne Stevens of Bentonville, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 15, 2017, from6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway. There will be a memorial service held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Culpeper, Virginia, with Rev. Neal Goldsborough officiating. Committal will be at Culpeper National Cemetery (new grounds), Culpeper, VA.
