Marian Aldena Estes Daye, 91, of Springfield, VA passed away December 12, 2019. Mrs. Daye was born to Lewis Columbus Estes and Florence Louise Compton Estes November 12, 1928. She was an avid gardener and a foodie who loved Knakal's Bakery, Country Cookin’, Graves Mountain Lodge, Sweetwater Tavern, and Mike's American Grill. She graduated from Culpeper County High School in 1946, Virginia Baptist Nursing School in 1950 and obtained a BSN from Baylor and MSN's from VCU and the University of Maryland.
Mrs. Daye is survived by her daughter Marian Daye and Marian's husband David Kent. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Daye and her brother Carlton Estes.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA 22701, Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 12:00 p.m.(noon) with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Rev. Aaron Gray will conduct the service.
