Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bess Queen Kirkland. She is
survived by her sister, Kay, her Uncle Jim Queen (Joyce) and several cousins.
Susie was a graduate of Culpeper County High School and Germanna Community College. Most of her
working life was spent with law enforcement agencies. She was a dispatcher for Virginia State Police
and later Director of E911 Services in Fauquier County. After retiring from full-time employment, she
worked for both Rappahannock County and Culpeper County Sheriffs’ Offices.
Susie was a voracious reader, a “lover of words”, and an accomplished cook. While living in Fauquier
County she sang with an auditioned choral group. Cats were always a part of her life.
Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Queen Family Plot, on Monday, August 26, at
11:00 A.M. Rev. Hans Murdock will officiate.
