Mary Frances Curtis

Mary Frances Curtis, age 81, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at Stafford Hospital. She was born on February 14, 1936 in Rappahannock County, Virginia the daughter of the late Emmett and Daisy (Nichols) Cox. She retired after 32 years from the C & P Telephone Company. She and her husband Roger owned and operated Sumerduck Dragway for over 39 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger and brother Kemper Douglas Hawkins. Survivors include her children, Roger Scott Curtis and Margie of Sumerduck, Virginia, Pamela Curtis Kiser and husband John of Sperryville, Virginia, Joy Curtis Anderson and husband Mike of Fredericksburg, Virginia; one brother, Charles William “Billy” Hawkins of Culpeper, Virginia; grandchildren, Aubri Curtis, Lilli Curtis, Kyle Lewis, Pierce Kiser, Taylor Holt, Jenna Anderson Snider, Kevin Anderson. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Hwy, Culpeper, Virginia. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Mt. Holly Baptist Church, 6172 Sumerduck Rd, Remington, Virginia with Rev. Chaz Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Holly Baptist Church Cemetery.
