Norman "Sonny" Ashby Shaw Jr.

Norman Ashby Shaw, Jr., “Sonny”, 75 years old, passed away peacefully at his home in Culpeper, VA on Thursday, January 28, 2016 surrounded by Family. Sonny was born on June 16, 1940 to Norman Ashby Shaw, Sr. and Edith Verna Rumsey Shaw. After many years, he retired from William B. Hopke Company of Alexandria, VA. Sonny enjoyed horseback riding, camping, and traveling.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Faye Taylor Shaw of 55 years, two daughters; Kimberly Edwards and her husband Mutt and Rachel Garr, six grandchildren; Ashly Routt and her husband David, Kala Manlucu and her husband Eddie, Brandi Hoffman and her husband Mark, Jennifer Stover, Rex Edwards and Hayley Garr, eight great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his sister; Susan Shaw, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a very special uncle, Mal Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Kyle Shaw.

Sonny and Faye built a wonderful life together. Sonny loved life and his family and friends were very important to him and he loved them all. He will be remembered as a wonderful, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Clore-English Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home with Rev. Kang Le conducting the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
