

Phillip Garland Estes, Sr., 87, passed away December 14, 2023 at his residence. Phillip was born to Esmus Carson Estes an Anna Compton Estes October 6, 1936. Phillip worked at VDOT for 37 years as a diesel mechanic, before retiring in 1999. He was known as Fiddling Phil and enjoyed playing music with his bluegrass family, working on old tractors, coon hunting and loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Mr. Estes is survived by his children, Tina Estes Corbin (Junior) and Wendy Estes Dyer (Larry); his grandchildren, Ashley Estes (Wayne), Phillip G. Estes, III (Mariah), Brandon Henderson (Shana), Justin Dyer and Chase Corbin; his great-grandchildren, Austin Skelly, Luke Berman, Charleigh Henderson, James Henderson, Oliver Henderson, Phillip G. Estes, IV, Faith Harris, Kholey Skelly and Kaleb Skelly and his daughter-in-law Phyllis E. Estes. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Katherine, his son Phillip Garland Estes, Jr., his great-grandchild Levi Skelly and his siblings, Virginia Smith, Liza Carraway, Lucille Comer, Carson Estes, Russell Estes and Archie Estes.
Funeral services will be held on December 21, 2023 at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) with interment to follow in Hillcrest Memory Garden.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time, 11:00a.m. until 12:00p.m.
