Robert Leroy Adams

Rev. Robert LeRoy Adams, 87, was born on December 25, 1931 and passed away at Dogwood Village of Orange on June 18, 2019. He was the son of Chalmers L. Adams and Eva Mae Barrett Adams and husband of Betty L. Adams. He was a retired pastor who served churches in South Carolina, Arizona, North Carolina and Virginia. He was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Sheila A. Horton of Culpeper and son, Michael L. Adams and wife, Terry, of Petersburg, VA; grandchildren, Rebecca Clayson and husband, Nick, Robert Adams and wife, Danielle, and Alexander Adams; four great grandchildren, Bentley, Lucas, Haley and Nathan; two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Adams and Linda Adams; two brothers-in-law, J. T. Phillips and Rev. Charles W. Arrowood and wife Betty; nieces, nephews, cousins; step-grandchildren Chris Horton and wife Diana; Gina Hughes and husband Matt; and Wendy Horton; step-great grandchildren, Shawn, Chad, Landon, Gregory and Gwendolyn; and step-great, great granddaughter Jayden. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty L. Adams; two sisters, Elizabeth Hance and Doris Phillips, two brothers, David Adams and Edward Adams and son-in-law, Reverend Richard L. “Lanny” Horton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 1:00 at Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 South West Street, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church. Burial will be at Coan Baptist Church in Heathsville, VA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Culpeper Baptist Church Building Fund, 318 South West Street, Culpeper, VA 22701.
