I first met Bob Gray when he was about 5 years old.  Bob was the younger brother of my best friend of over 70 years, Lorraine.  The Gray Family were neighbors who lived a few doors away from my family on Taylor Road in Falls Church, Virginia.
Bob was part of the "neighborhood kid's gang" and was an energetic and fun-filled boy.  He grew up to be such a treasure to so many people in so many ways.  Praying for his much beloved family and friends as they mourn his passing.

Bobby was a part of my life for 74 years.  We saw some good times and some hard times. Throughout it all his wit and sense of humor never failed him or us.   He had the gift of entertainment.  Telling stories and jokes he shared his love of laughter – often poking fun at himself.
Bob served I the US Navy during the Viet Nam War both on ship and also on shore.
His miraculous heart transplant in 2003 gave him 21 beautiful years for which he was always grateful.
Bob was a simple guy – he loved GOD, his family, the smiles of children, a warm fire, a good meal, his beloved Meg and his constant companions Finn and Henry B.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan for most of life.  He loved to sing and listen to music especially Elvis and Hank Williams. Their soulful sound spoke to his heart.
His true talent was gardening.  He was happiest digging in the dirt and watching the ground come to life. His yard and gardens were the envy of all who visited.  He had the gift of a green thumb and with Meg’s help they created a beautiful paradise of flowers, trees and vegetables.
He is survived by his wife Meg of 31 years, his children, grandchildren, sisters and brothers and a large loving family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents William and Juanita Gray of Ocala, FL 
His friends and family will forever miss him, his sense of humor and his fresh vegetables which he loved to share.

Pictures tell the story better than words ever could.   We all love him very very much.  He was the hardest worker ever - even when he shouldn't, he did more and for anybody that needed him.  He was a true hero around here.  I can only picture the reunion with him and Dad - the naughty kids on the field trips.   What a pair.  I wonder if heaven is ready for this.

Our sympathy and condolences to you and families.  It's not easy losing a love one.   He gave it all to his family and his country. Meg you took care of him like no other. We both are die hard DALLAS COWBOYS fans and especially trash talking  when COWBOYS beat the deadskins.

Stay strong, we love you and we are here for you.

P.S.  I am sure you saw that butt kicking Dallas did to Washington.  1st time ever I was cheering for Dallas.  Every time now when I see any Dallas it is now our sign!!

Dear Lorraine Gray Gatti, Arlene, Joey, and Steve Gray and Megan and family! I am deeply sorry Bobby’s passing but I definitely remember him since you Lorraine and I were 16 years old it was nice to meet you Megan when we came to your home you were very hospitable and I loved meeting everybody Bobby was a great person He was funny, too sweet memories may he always be eternal.
