

Ruth Floyd Hill, age 89, affectionately known as "Sis," loving wife of W.O. (Billy) Hill, Jr. for over sixty years, died October 1, 2012, at the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community. Sis was born March 16, 1922, to Edd and Marie Queen Floyd. A long-time resident of Brandy Station, she had been the proprietor of Floyd's Store, and assisted the Brandy Station postmaster; loved flowers and gardening and was an active member of the Brandy Garden Club; also served in the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Sis's creed was "Love the Lord and your neighbor," and she lived by it.
Ruth is survived by her husband Billy and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings; Bill, Jack, and Sally.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Clore-English Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Culpeper Masonic Cemetery, Culpeper, VA.
