

Los Angeles, California to his parents, Florida Mae McWright & Alvester Hunter. He attended school at 61st Street Elementary, John Muir Junior High School, and graduated from L.A. High School in 1967. Shortly after high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp from 1968 until 1970, where he was honorably discharged as a Private First Classman. In 1981 he
became a father to his oldest child Tunleha Doll Hunter and in 1986 to his youngest child, Labarrie Kaylish Vanye Hunter, who survived him. (Step-Children): Manyale Gilbert, Sterling Mathews, Dean DeAnn
Williams, Candace Hoover, Brittany Hoover, Brandon Maxwell, and Chyna Goss. (Step-Grandchildren):
Danyale Gilbert, Kaden Williams, Malachi Mathews, Zoe Mathews, Ziona Mathews, Zayla Mathews, Gianna Mathews, and Taj Mathews. He is also survived by his (Step-Mother): Hazel Lee Hunter & (Sisters &
Brothers): Shirley Ann Hunter, Hue Fortson Jr., Joyce Wilturner, Alvira Hunter, Christina Hunter, Tim Hunter, Alvester Hunter, Jr., Nathan Hunter (deceased), Jewel Hunter (deceased), and a host of nieces & nephews. By accepting God early in his life, Barry always felt that God saw the best in him, when everyone saw the worst in him. He knew that God was his heavenly Father and he was God’s child, no matter what he did. God saw Barry who he was and from that God always saw the best in him. Barry will forever be loved and missed by all of his family and friends.
