Marguerite Rinck Manning November 2, 1915 – December 7, 2014 Mrs. Marguerite Manning died with family at her side in Lake Oswego, OR on December 7, 2014, at 99 years of age. Marguerite was born November 2, 1915 in Bridgeport, CT to Otto Max Rinck and Margaret McDonough Rinck. The family moved to Minneapolis shortly thereafter. Marguerite graduated from St. Margaret’s Academy in 1934, and then worked in a variety of office positions, eventually becoming Office Manager at the Campbell Mithun advertising agency. In 1954 she moved with her parents to Los Angeles, where she continued her career with Campbell Mithun. In 1957 she married Joseph Manning, whom she met at their parish church. In a career change for both Joe and Marguerite, they purchased Our Lady’s Gift Shop in Hollywood, and subsequently enjoyed managing the shop and traveling abroad together. Joe died unexpectedly in 1980. Marguerite moved to Palm Springs in 1990, and then in 2008 to Portland, OR, to be near several of her nieces and their families. Marguerite loved to travel, and went on many trips and cruises in her long life. Family was very important to her, as was her Catholic faith and her special devotion to St. Jude. She maintained her vibrant, loving, feisty personality until the very end, and will be greatly missed by all her family. We will never forget her. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 10th, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Mortuary, 5835 W. Slauson Ave, Los Angeles, CA. Marguerite will be laid to rest with her husband and her parents at Holy Cross Cemetery.
