

Marion Dorothy Aldrich Stewart was born on November 16, 1913 and passed on February 8, 2010 at the age of 96. She was born in San Diego, California and as a child lived in San Diego and Bakersfield before her family settled in Los Angeles where she graduated from Polytechnic High school. She and William (Bill) Stewart were married in Santa Monica in 1936. In 1939, they bought their home in West Los Angeles where they lived all their remaining years. They owned and operated Sun Ray Lighting in Culver City for many years before retiring in the 1980's. Marion provided great support for her sons through active participation in various PTA's, the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts. She was a crossword puzzle wizard and loved to play Yahtzee and Scrabble with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and her sister Evelyn. She leaves two sons, Allan of Brookings, Oregon and Lee of Huntington Beach, California as well as four grandchildren, Andrew, Heather, Shannon, Julie and four great-grandchildren.
Services willl be held at Gates Kingsley & Gates in Culver City, California on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in her name to the Los Angeles Alzheimer Association in recognition of her beloved husband's battle with the disease.
