Rosemary Elizabeth Kaufman (née Leppek) passed away at home after a long illness on March 18, 2015 in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, surrounded by family, and visited by friends around the clock in the prior days. She was born on November 19, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Los Angeles in 1965. Rosemary was a Registered Nurse at Centinela Hospital Medical Center from 1975 until her retirement in 2009, where she cared for babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Nursery, making lifelong friends with her fellow nurses. She was highly respected for her professional competence, trustworthiness and reliability, but it was her compassionate nature, sense of humor and knack for practical jokes that endeared her to all those who knew her, friends and family alike. Rosemary was passionate about traveling, including trips to Australia, Egypt, French Polynesia, and much of Europe, Asia and Latin America. She will be remembered for her beauty, devotion to her children, husband, family and friends, love for entertaining and how she cared for others. Rosemary was a member of Visitation Catholic Church in Los Angeles, where she especially enjoyed midnight mass each year on Christmas Eve. She was preceded in death by her parents Dolores and Leo Leppek and brother Leonard Leppek. She is survived by her husband Edward Kaufman, children Anne Kaufman and Rodger Kaufman, son-in-law Eric Goldman and siblings Audrey Hamlin, George Leppek and Joseph Leppek.
