

Stanford was born in Chicago, IL on July 28, 1937 to Mary and Benjamin Burrows of Winnipeg, Canada. Stanford attended multiple colleges including Mt. SAC, San Jose State University and the University of Southern California for electrical engineering, and later at UC Irvine for a Certified Financial Planner certificate. He was a member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. Stanford worked in multiple Southern California aerospace companies including North American Aviation, Rockwell International and Boeing. Stanford enjoyed playing basketball, tennis and golf, and following USC football and basketball. In retirement, he travelled extensively with his wife Betty throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Russia, Asia, South America, Antarctica, Australia and New Zealand.
He is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Betty, and his older brother Frank. He is survived by his daughter, Elaine Tamiko; son Steven (Paula) Burrows; grandchildren Eloise and Theodore Burrows and sister Marilyn (Jim) Hempy. He is also survived by numerous cousins, a niece and nephew.
A funeral service was held on Oct. 11, 2025 at Gates, Kingsley & Gates Smith Salsbury in Culver City, with graveside service at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
