Eventually she moved to North Brookfield, MA and became a well-loved member of the community there. After the shoe factories closed, she began working at Bay Path Golf Course and tended bar at the local V.F.W. Later in life Alice returned home to Ugpi’ganjig (Eel River Bar) in 1991 and spent her remaining years there and is lovingly remembered as the “cake lady” and the “ribbon lady”. Alice had fond memories of her mother’s home community of Listuguj and her Aunt Lilly, Uncle Andy and Uncle Lola and leaves behind many cousins there. She loved bingo and the community of friends she met there.
Alice was a true matriarch and had an immense joy for her children and all her descendants. She had an enduring love and faith in the Catholic church and Jesus Christ. She has returned home to paradise. We all wish her well on her journey to eternal happiness in heaven above.
