

It is with sadness the family of Mathilda (Babe) Valdron LaPointe of Dalhousie, NB announces her death on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Dalhousie Nursing Home. She reached the age of 102 & 6 months, however, her quality of life had declined during the past few years.
Mathilda (Babe) was born on July 15, 1914 in Dalhousie, NB. She was the daughter of the late Peter Valdron and Elizabeth Doucet. Babe lived all her life in Dalhousie on the beautiful Bay of Chaleur. She was an active member of the CWL at St. John Bosco, she loved to play Bingo and her earlier days were filled with softball and bowling. She found much happiness in her backyard with her flowers.
She is survived by her sons, David (Heather) of Miramichi, NB, Carl of Irishtown, NB and Bobby (Diane) of Point la Nim, NB and her daughter Betty Ann (late Clayton Smith) of Dalhousie. Her grandchildren, David (Lisa) Calgary, AB, Shyanne (Jacques Bergeron) Dalhousie, Janet (Steve Wilde) Bangor, Maine, Christopher (Eryka) Irishtown, NB. Great-grandchildren; Shane and Keagan Bergeron, Dalhousie, NB, Aaron and Jillian Wilde, Bangor, Maine, Blake and Cally Rose LaPointe of Irishtown, NB
In addition to her husband, James and parents, Mathilda was predeceased by her sibling, Regis Valdron, Earl (Chum) Valdron, Benoit (Nushy) Valdron, Edouard Austin Valdron, Verne Valdron, Violet Patterson and Pearl O’Neil, also several nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend a special thank-you to the Nursing Staff, Kitchen Staff, Housekeeping Staff, Activity Staff and Administration Staff at the Dalhousie Nursing Home for their care and support. It is much appreciated.
A funeral mass will be held at the St. John Bosco Church, Dalhousie, Monday at 11:00 am.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
