Viola Ethel Hamilton MacNair

Born March 27th, 1918, in Charlo, NB to Daniel and Ethel Hamilton (née Millar), she was one of seven children. She is survived by her children Carol Button of Dalhousie and Wayne MacNair (Pauline Shaw) of Charlo, grandchildren Mark MacNair (Jessica Beattie) of Charlo, Beth Button (Joshua Graham) of Fredericton, and Heather Chisholm (Peter) of Calgary, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by daughter-in-law June MacNair, son-in-law Clark Button, sisters Catherine Miller, Margaret Hamilton, Jean MacNair, and Stella MacNair, brothers Gilbert and Alex Hamilton.

She was a faithful member of St. John’s Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Atlantic Missionary Society. She also served as treasurer of the Goforth Missionary Society for 53 years.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and the staff and residents of the Dalhousie Nursing Home.

The funeral service will held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 5th, at Saint John’s Presbyterian Church in Dalhousie.

Donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
