David Reid Kirksey

A true man of God whose favorite Bible verse was John 3:16... David Reid Kirksey, age 91 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at his residence in Dallas. David was a man who loved his family dearly. Back in his day, David loved to hunt rabbits and squirrels.

David was the son of the late Sidney Sivoy Kirksey and Mertie Clemmer Kirksey. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Ava Lee Kirksey; one daughter: Brenda Kirksey Silvers; one grandson: David Silvers; six sisters and one brother.

Those left to cherish the memories of David are his daughter: Cheryl Kirksey Gallo; son: Donald Reid Kirksey, Sr.; three sisters: Daisy Kirksey, and twins Mava Johnson and Myrtle Best along with her husband Gene; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

A Life Well Celebrated Ceremony will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday February 24, 2017 at Long Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Shaw officiating.

Graveside and committal service will follow in the Long Creek Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Donald Kirksey Jr, Nathaniel Adams, Christopher Adams, Joseph Adams, Adam Renfro and Donnie Davis.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Dallas Funeral Home.
