

Jasper “J.D.” Don Wallace, 82, of Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at The Robin Johnson House with his loving family by his side. He was born in Gaston County and was the son of the late Charles Avery and Myrtle Robinson Wallace.
Mr. Wallace was a veteran of the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of Wallace Welding Service, Dallas. He was an avid farmer and avid outdoorsman who loved to be in the woods.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife, Ruby Taylor Featherston Wallace; one daughter, Susan Jacobs and husband James “Butch” of Gastonia; two sons, Jack Wallace and girlfriend, Kim Davis of Dallas, Wayne Glenn Wallace of the home and girlfriend, Aletta Setzer of Cherryville; one brother, Charles Steven Wallace and wife Mary Helen of Lincolnton; one sister, Nellie Jacobs of Gastonia; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at Dallas Funeral Home, 212 W. Trade Street, Dallas with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Carver officiating.
Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Don Taylor Wallace, Eddie Dale Wallace; two brothers and three sisters.
