

Abraham R. González was born in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico to his late parents Luisa Ruiz and José González. Abraham was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 52 years, Flavia A. González, as well as his brother, who passed as a young child.
In 1942, Abraham immigrated to the United States as an employee of the Luse family of Dallas, Texas, where he worked for 40 years. After his marriage to Flavia in February of 1950, she joined him as an employee of the Luse family. In October of the following year they welcomed their first child, Yolanda, followed by their second child, José, in May of 1955.
Abraham was devoted to his family as well as his community. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral in Dallas. He became a member of The Knights of Columbus in 1964, initially joining Council 5538 and later Council 799 as a Fourth Degree Knight. Abraham was also a dedicated member of the Catholic Fraternal Order of Alhambra.
Abraham is survived by his daughter Yolanda González Monett (Steven) of Charlottesville, Virginia; his son José Luis González (Tina) of Sachse, Texas; his half brother Valentín González (Mireya) of Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico; his grandchildren Eleanor Louise McGlinchey (John) of Bronx, New York, Mary Donland González (Daniel) of Suffolk, Virginia, Joseph Abraham Al Ayoubi-Monett (Diana) of Brooklyn, New York, Austin Matthew González of Denton, Texas and Monica Christine González of Sachse, Texas; his great-grandchildren Mateo, Ronan, Levi, Samuel, Gabriela, Sophia, and Kaelynn; as well as many beloved friends and family in Mexico, Dallas, and beyond.
Mass of Cristian Burial will be held at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to one of the many organizations that were dear to Abraham: Special Olympics Texas (https://www.sotx.org) and Cathedral Guadalupe (https://www.cathedralguadalupe.org).
