

Alan Bernard Stein passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 80. Born on October 21, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, Alan lived a life marked by dedication to his family, career, and community.
Alan is survived by his beloved wife, LaRee Stein; his children Scott (Louise), Brent (Carrie), Adam, and Ryan (Jennifer); and his cherished grandchildren Evan, Zachary, Alex, Cooper, Caroline, and Cate.
Professionally, Alan worked as a career consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Beyond his career, he was deeply committed to helping others succeed through his involvement in numerous networking groups where he inspired and uplifted countless lives.
Alan’s passion for giving back extended to extensive nonprofit work. He served as a board member and volunteer for organizations such as Hopeful Solutions, The Family Place, Sammons Center for the Arts, and the Dallas Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. His contributions left a lasting impact on these communities.
Alan’s passions extended to his personal life as well. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren—playing games and sharing his signature “grandpa jokes.” An avid runner, Alan completed 13 marathons across locations as diverse as Ireland, Vancouver, and Alaska. He was also a devoted sports fan who enjoyed cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Family Place, Hopeful Solutions, or the Alzheimer’s Association in Alan’s memory.
Alan will be remembered for his generosity of spirit and the profound impact he had on those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his loss.
