

Mr. Alfred Brannan Sample was born in Dallas, Texas, to the parentage of Mr. William and Mrs. Margaret Sample. He received his education in the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1955. Alfred then attended Mountain View College and became a substitute teacher. He also served in the Air Force for four years.
Alfred accepted the Lord Jesus as his personal savior at an early age at True Light Baptist Church. He later joined the Olivet Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member. He was on the Deacon Board and sang in the choir and male chorus.
He married Major Williams in 1963 and they were married for 55 years. To this union one son, Andwin Sample, was born.
Mr. Sample was a member of Zakat Temple #164 and Cherubim Lodge #237.
He is preceded in death by his parents ; his son, Andwin Sample; one brother, Mr. Frederick Sample; and two sisters, Mrs. Margie Johnson and Mrs. Helen Armstead.
Mr. Alfred B. Sample leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Major Sample; a daughter, Lynetta Bilyk; God daughter, Kwentoria Williams; a stepson, Walter Vaughn; one sister, Rev. Peggy Williams; three brothers, Rev. James Sample and Mr. Thomas Sample (Mary), all of Dallas, and Mr. Mark E. Sample (Verla) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; six sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; one uncle, Mr. Issac G. Cary; one aunt, Mrs. Marjorie Z. Cary; and many other relatives and friends.
