She passed away from this life on January 15, 2025 and was 83 years old.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Isaac Carl Crocker, her three sisters Sarah Janie Crocker, Annie Marie Crocker Peterson, Eva Pearl Crocker Ward and her son Charles “Chuck” Roger Murphy, Jr.
Alice is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles “Roger” Murphy, Sr., daughters Laura Wood and Teresa Westmoreland; sisters of choice Mickey Webb, Samra Crocker and Teri Patchell; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was a homemaker, amateur paleontologist and most of all, friend to everyone she met. She loved digging for dinosaurs, camping, taking cruises, going on road trips, cooking and making everyone feel important and loved.
She was known to all her friends as “Alice from Dallas”.
Alice never met a stranger.
Alice was acknowledged in an article from Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology naming the crocodyliform (Paluxysuchus newmani) that she discovered.
Alice will live forever in our hearts and be deeply missed by all.
She will be remembered by her warm hugs, generosity, kind and loving heart, and her big smile. She was a very special lady. Her legacy and memory will forever be remembered by friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the College Mound Cemetery Association (CMCA) PO Box 105, Terrell, TX 75160 where her urn will be interred beside her son.
