

Ann Goldstein Jolesch, 87, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Born on January 6, 1923, in New York City to Louise and Roy Goldstein, Ann was well liked by all who knew her and made friends easily. Ann graduated from Horace Mann High School in New York City in 1940 and attended Grinnell College in Iowa where she majored in social studies and graduated in 1944. Her first job after graduation was for the Child Welfare Agency - State of Illinois. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years Edwin C. Jolesch. She met her husband in New York City when Edwin was a stockbroker for Bache, and they moved to Dallas so Ed could take over his uncle’s ranch, and they had a wonderful life together in Texas, raising three sons. Ann was active in many charities including the National Council of Jewish Women, Temple Emanuel - Sisterhood, Golden Acres, the Vogel Alcove, Temple-Emanuel and others. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing and sports. She made many of her own clothes for years and also for her grandchildren. She loved traveling with Ed and they were fortunate to see many parts of the world. She is survived by her three sons and their spouses: Cathy and Elliot Jolesch of Dallas; Tricia and Bruce W. Jolesch of Dallas, Julie and Mark Jolesch of Des Moines, Iowa and ten grandchildren: Kimberly Jolesch, Michael Jolesch, Jennifer and Joe Arceneaux; Laura and Joe Jolesch; Julie Jolesch; Chase Jolesch, Drew Jolesch, Austin Jolesch, Jordan Jolesch and Jamison Jolesch. Mom asked to thank the people at The Plaza at Edgemere and Medical City Dallas who provided such outstanding care during the past two years. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3rd at Sparkman/Hillcrest. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 4th at 3:00 p.m. in chapel at Sparkman Hillcrest. Rabbi David Stern officiating. Private entombment preceding the service at Hillcrest Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to William Jolesch Glaucoma Research Foundation at Baylor University Medical Center; Moise Cerf Fellowship at Texas Tech University; the Mamie and Joe Jolesch Music Scholarship at SMU, or the charity of your choice.
