

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Spencer Simms in 2006, and brother L.G. Murrell, Jr. in 2019.
Grann was born September 13, 1932, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to L.G. and Joann Murrell. She was raised in Tulsa and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in social work in 1954. She married Thomas Simms in September 19, 1959.
In addition to raising her three children, Grann was a devoted volunteer for the Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestra for many years. She was also an avid gardener with a passion for hydrangeas and gerbera daisies, which were always grown in her garden.
Grann was a world traveler who visited over 44 countries in her lifetime, often traveling with her husband Thomas, her children, and her grandchildren.
Grann was the essence of grace, elegance, and refinement. She was classy, sophisticated and yet extremely down-to-earth. She loved spending time at the beach, solving “all the problems of the world” over morning coffee and discussing politics in the evening over a glass of chardonnay. She had a great love for food and fine dining.
Grann was always extremely generous, especially with her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always made everyone feel welcome and loved. She will be greatly missed.
Grann is survived by her son David and his wife Meg, daughter Melinda and her husband Bill, son Scott and his wife Cristina, and her grandchildren: Anna and her husband Jonathan, Max, Sara, Emma, Molly, Scotty, Ruby, and Thomas.
