Anna Marie Williams was born in Dallas on October 3, 1923. She passed away peacefully in Austin on December 19, 2012. Ann lived the majority of her life in Dallas and would argue with anyone who spoke ill of her wonderful city. She started work at Southwestern Bell following graduation from high school when operators still used plug-ins to connect calls. She grew with them for 35 years until retirement and eventual relocation to Austin to be closer to her brother’s family. Though never married, she was a doting aunt to a multitude of nieces and nephews and was even called “Aunt Ann” by family friends. During her retirement years, she helped raise two boys, Rocco and Vince, grandchildren of her dear friend, Dodie Royals, and becoming a much loved member of their family. Now she is celebrating the reunion with her parents, Robert C. Williams, Sr. and Mary (Hopp) Williams, and her siblings, Robert “Bubba”, Joe “Joe Boy”, Lawton “Little Lawton” and Shirley “Shirley Girl.” Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Calvary Hill North Chapel. Interment to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
