Here it is, years later, and you still cross my mind often. I miss you my friend.  A picture of us from the Christmas party in 2017 hangs on my desk so I can see you every day <3.   God broke the mold with Anne- she is missed.

I was the New York office library manager at Jones Day for decades and knew Anne since she started in the Dallas office in the late 1980's.  We shared an interest in cataloging and opinions of people and policies in the law library world.  Although I retired in 2018, we remained in touch and I was thrilled when she too could start retirement.  However, the love of Sanibel Island, FL united us.  Although Anne could not vacation there as often as she would have liked, I sent her a box of shells after every vacation which she used to decorate her garden in Dallas.  She moved to Tyler with an unopened box of shells from my last vacation in 2022.  The impact of Hurricane Ian last year devastated our respite and affected us both deeply.  If I return to Sanibel if it is ever restored, I will walk on the beach and think of my friend and colleague.  Condolences to her family, friends  and all who knew her.

Anne was a one of a kind.  We first met working at Standard Oil and so enjoyed our friendship during those years.  We sure had fun at work and after work... oh my goodness could we laugh!!  She did us a great service one year by cat sitting when we were gone on a long trip.  She was living in a small apartment at the time and loved being in our house with big easy chairs.  The cats were so happy with Anne I think they were disappointed when we returned.  For years after that when the cats were upset with us for whatever... we were sure they were saying "We want ANNE! We want ANNE!"
I just recently found the hilarious note she wrote at the end of her stay.  I went to post is in a message to her on FB or email and learned she had just died... oh my the sadness.  
I just watched the memorial service... I am sorry to have not been able to attend.

As a new law librarian in Jones Day's Chicago office many years ago, Anne was a friendly and immensely knowledgeable resource.  Always willing to share information and answer any and all questions.  Her generosity was always apparent and very much appreciated.

I contacted Anne and Ernestine a few years ago whilst researching my family tree. It was lovely to message my cousins I’d heard about but had never had the chance to meet. One thing that stood out about Anne was her sense of humour, and listening to the memorial service it seems that she enriched so many lives and will be very sadly missed.

Anne was such  a spunky, quick-witted, caring friend and next door neighbor for many years.   She was a master gardener… her yard put everyone else ‘s to shame!   Animals  and quilting were her passions!  Her untimely death was a reminder to us all to live life to the fullest, as Anne did.  Heartfelt condolences  to Steve and  her family.  

My name is John Adams and I was Anne’s colleague as a research librarian at Jones Day during my twenty-five-year tenure, 1996 through my retirement in October 2021.

I was so fortunate in that relationship.  From the very beginning of my tenure, Anne and I bonded, not only as colleagues but also as friends.  As luck would have it, we shared a similar world view and political orientation, and our respective senses of humor tracked.  We quickly discovered our mutual love for cats.

Anne’s knowledge of library science, especially her mastery of cataloging, was total; her professionalism as a law librarian was complete.  The energy and enthusiasm which infused her work was something to behold.  For myself, I will always be grateful for her unselfish mentoring during my fledgling days at Jones Day, as well as for the synergy she brought to the research assignments we worked on together.

As an added bonus, my life was enriched by learning from Anne’s lived experiences:  Anne’s travels in Texas and beyond; her visits to the State Fair of Texas, quilting, meteorology and cookery, just to name a few.

Anne was the giver of innumerable, unselfish acts of kindness and thoughtfulness.  Along with many others, I was a beneficiary of Anne’s seemingly inexhaustible impulse to provide help, support or relief when a need came to her attention.  She was always there when needed.

And, as it is with friends, Anne and I shared all the life events that punctuated our respective lives during those years, both happy and sad.  Some shared moments were mundane but very special, such as the “beauty breaks” we would take on occasion, in the late afternoon, to watch the sunset from our lofty perch in the Jones Day library at the Trammel Crow Center.

Although Anne is no longer in our view, her all too short life will continue to live vividly in our memories of her, and through the affection we will always share for her.

Anne was always helpful and kind.  I will miss the laughter she brought to any conversation we had.  She made me smile whenever we spoke.

I worked with Anne for many years as the Westlaw rep coming to provide training at Jones Day.  Before we called anyone for training, we always had a nice conversation about anything and everything.  I enjoyed our frequent discussions. We both spent quality time in Lubbock and that was just one of our many topics.  I was so excited for Anne getting to retire and move out of the city as I'd been chatting back and forth with her about her excitement.  Anne was friendly to everyone and always had a kind word to share.  In recent years my good friend lived down the street from Anne and told me about her beautiful award winning yard.  Anne was a special person with a fondness in her heart for creatures and people. I will miss her smile, her gift of conversation, her kindness, and her genuineness.  I will miss her friendship.

Working with Anne for many years brought so much joy to so many people! 
She always had a smile on her face and the gift of gab. She always made one feel they were the only one in the room when she spoke to you.

I knew Ann only briefly, through family, but long enough to be touched by her high spirit and magnetic personality. We were just getting to share our experiences and backgrounds. I was learning about her quilting talents, collections and extensive garden around her home. I think there was no plant she didn’t know and many she grew of her own! I feel sad that I won’t get to continue our friendship but thankful for the short time we had!  

Anne was such a great person!  So many people at Jones Day dearly loved and adored her immensely.  
It saddens me to know end that her life was cut so short.  May our Precious Treasures Rest in Peace.  I loved her!

I will always miss Anne.  She was a very loyal friend and kept track of all of her buddies.  I always enjoyed hearing about what was going on in her life and what she was up to.  I will miss her stories, her laugh, her caring about others and her latest weather report.  She was a blessing to all who knew her.  

Anne was a very dear friend, a sister. I'm still in shock. She was so much fun. We had some very good times at Jones Day, and after I left. She had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone she met. She never met a stranger she would talk to any and everyone that was around her. I will truly miss her. She was the best.

Anne was a beloved law library colleague at Jones Day.  I retired two years before her, but fondly remember fun conversations about hopes and dreams for our retirement years.  We also loved sharing funny stories regarding our fur-babies.  I am shocked & saddened by her sudden passing.  Sending love & prayers to Steve and family on a precious life taken far too soon.  R.I.P., dear friend.

Anne’s visit at my desk (Jones Day) was a real bright spot in my day.  She always made me laugh and kept me up to date on her work with cat, Dachsund, and elderly dog rescue.  She had such a heart for animals.  And what a fun-loving personality!  She approached life with such gusto and people with open-heartedness.  Wherever she went,  she made the community her home and everyone was included.  I have been so inspired by Anne’s life in many ways and will miss her greatly.  Condolences to Steve, Ernie and all of Anne’s family.  I know her passing has left such a void.

Anne was a treasured Jones Day colleague. I worked with her during her entire time at the Firm, and she was a dedicated and diligent coworker. Plus, she was very kind and caring, always brightening the room with her smile! I am so sorry that she is gone way too soon from this earth. We are diminished by her absence. I wish you peace and comfort in these days of terrible loss.
